These Production Guidelines explain how we work, what you receive, and how rights, timing and changes are handled. They apply to every engagement — one-off projects and monthly retainers. The specifics of your engagement are confirmed in your quote or contract; where the contract differs, the contract prevails.

How we work

Lux Photo Pro is a production company with its own standards, workflow and art direction — not an execution-only vendor. You engage us for visual expertise, aesthetic judgement and production management, and every deliverable carries our technical standard and our reading of the agreed concept.

That structure is what keeps quality consistent, production efficient, and the final result aligned with the brief.

Brief. We agree the goal, the channel the assets are for (LinkedIn, website, reports, ads, listings, print), the shot list and the deliverables.
Plan / moodboard. For creative work we align on direction before the shoot day. For retainers, the monthly content plan is shared ahead of the month.
Production. We shoot in our Belair studio or on-site, using one consistent lighting and colour standard either way. Larger shoots are covered by our in-house team, not a single freelancer.
Post and delivery. Files are edited to a single colour standard and delivered channel-ready.

Creative direction and approval

Pre-production is optional and can include concept development, a moodboard, visual references, a shot list, lighting and styling direction, and format decisions per platform.

When pre-production is approved, the shoot and the edit follow that approved direction.
When pre-production is reduced or skipped — usually for speed — creative direction is led by Lux Photo Pro, and stylistic decisions are made by our team.
References guide the direction; they are not a specification to be replicated. Send them before editing starts. Requests to rework a finished result against references supplied afterwards are treated as additional work.

Photo editing levels

Colour correction — the base level applied to every delivered image: global grading, exposure and contrast, white balance, tonal consistency across the series, sharpening, and our colour profile. Done in professional raw processing; it does not include retouching, skin editing or object removal.

Basic editing — colour correction plus cropping and framing, light cleanup of temporary imperfections, and minimal refinement that keeps natural texture. Roughly 10 minutes per image. Suited to events, reportage, content production and natural portrait sessions. It does not include detailed skin retouch, body modification or complex background work.

Advanced editing — basic editing plus detailed skin retouch with texture preserved, local light and colour work, cleanup of hair, clothing and background distractions. Roughly 20 minutes per image. Suited to professional portraits, branding and editorial-style imagery. No artificial smoothing, no "plastic skin". It does not include compositing or reconstruction.

High-end retouch — premium level for commercial, fashion and advertising: dodge and burn, high-precision skin work, micro-detail refinement, controlled sculpting of light and form, frame by frame. Roughly 1 hour per image. Quoted separately and not included in standard packages.

Video formats and limits

Each format has a defined length, shot count and raw-footage limit, so the edit stays within the agreed scope. One revision round is included.

Short-form (Reels / TikTok / Shorts) — up to 30 seconds, up to 10 unique shots, one orientation (vertical or horizontal), music, subtitles if needed, simple transitions. Raw footage up to 5 minutes. No motion graphics, tracking or compositing.
Concept / advertising short video — 60–90 seconds, 15–25 unique shots, orientation fixed before production, concept-driven shooting, refined pacing, enhanced grading, simple animated titles. Raw footage 15–30 minutes. No high-end VFX or CGI by default.
Teaser / highlight — 1–3 minutes, structured storytelling, music-driven pacing. Raw footage up to 30 minutes.
Standard editorial video — 3–7 minutes for brand content, interviews and presentations: narrative editing, sound design, basic graphics.
Extended film — 10–30 minutes, multi-scene storytelling.
Long-form film — 30 minutes and above, full narrative development.
Podcast / multi-camera — 2–3 angles, multi-source audio, synchronised editing and clean switching. Recording up to 2 hours; final deliverable up to 35 minutes.

Music is confirmed before the shoot or within 24 hours after production, and is then locked. Changing music after approval means a full re-edit and is billed as new work.

Selection

Staged and commercial shoots. You receive a preview gallery of unedited or lightly processed frames within 2 business days. You select the final images and confirm when the selection is complete — post-production starts from that confirmation. Please select within 3 business days.

Reportage, events and weddings. We curate the selection ourselves, on visual quality, storytelling and technical standard. The number of delivered images follows your package or contract. Advanced retouching on chosen frames can be added as a service.

If selection or feedback is delayed, the schedule shifts — and by more than the delay itself, because your project re-enters a production queue.

Deliverables

Photo: JPG — about 2048 px for web and social, about 4500 px for print.
Video: MP4 (H.264 or H.265 depending on the project). Resolution and aspect ratio follow the project, the platform and the approved direction.
Framing and orientation (vertical, horizontal, crop) are decided by us on intended use, composition and art direction. Your preferences are taken into account when they are set before or during production.
Delivery is via a secure online gallery or cloud storage, with download access on final delivery.

Turnaround

Indicative and confirmed per project:

Real estate: 24–48 hours
Corporate portraits: preview next day; final files in about 5–7 days (urgent same-day preview available as a paid add-on)
Events: up to 7 business days
Studio and commercial photography: up to 14 business days
Video: up to 28 business days depending on length and edits
Retainer: edited photos within about 7 business days, short-form video within about 10 business days

The clock starts when the shoot is finished, your selection is confirmed (where applicable) and all materials we need from you have arrived. If we finish early you receive the files early — we do not hold delivery to match a deadline. Priority processing moves a project up the queue for accelerated turnaround, typically 1–3 days depending on scope, and is quoted individually.

Revisions, rework and new work

One revision round is included per deliverable. Send feedback in one structured piece — a document, a comment system or an agreed platform; scattered feedback slows processing down.

Revision — adjustments inside the original scope and the approved direction: minor colour tweaks, small retouch refinements.
Rework — requests that contradict what was already approved: changing colour direction, altering visual style, reversing key creative decisions.
New work — anything outside the original scope: additional images or edits, a different editing style, restructured video, extra formats or versions.

Rework and new work are quoted and billed separately, and approved before we start.

What we do not do

We keep control of artistic and technical standards, and there are things we will not deliver: unrealistic changes to physical appearance, artificial or "plastic" skin, distorted body proportions, or edits that alter someone's identity. Retouching stays realistic, keeps texture and remains visually credible.

Colour grading and visual output follow our art direction. Late stylistic changes may be treated as additional work.

On set

During production, camera work, lighting, composition, pacing and directing subjects are led by our team. You are welcome to give input, suggest ideas and comment during the shoot; the final execution decision stays with the photographer, videographer or art director. That is what keeps quality consistent and the shoot day efficient.

What we need from you

Clear references, expectations and direction where they matter
Review and approval of pre-production materials when that phase is used
Assets on time: logos, texts, brand guidelines, access, contacts
Selection inside the agreed window
Feedback and revision requests inside the agreed deadlines

We are not responsible for delays caused by late or incomplete input, and such delays can extend the timeline by more than the delay itself because of scheduling and workload.

RAW files

RAW (unprocessed) files are not part of standard deliverables. They can be licensed or supplied by separate written agreement. RAW material is unfinished: it does not represent the final quality or our art direction, and we are not responsible for third-party editing or use of it.

Storage

Final delivered materials are kept for up to two months from delivery. After that we cannot guarantee availability and are not responsible for data loss or archiving — please download and store your files. Extended archiving can be arranged in the contract.

Team and unforeseen circumstances

We work as a structured team, and production can still be affected by illness, technical failure or force majeure. Depending on the situation we either replace the team member with an equivalent specialist or reschedule the production, choosing whichever protects quality and delivery. You are informed as early as possible, and where it makes sense we agree the solution with you.

Usage rights and confidentiality

On full payment you receive the usage rights agreed in your contract for the delivered files, for the agreed scope and platforms. Extended or exclusive rights are defined separately. Unless the contract says otherwise, we keep the right to use delivered work in our portfolio, website, social media and marketing.

We sign NDAs on request and work NDA-friendly by default; galleries are password-protected; behind-the-scenes capture happens only with your approval. Where people are photographed, the client is responsible for obtaining the necessary consents unless agreed otherwise.

Overdelivery

Sometimes you receive more than the agreed quantity. That is a bonus at our discretion, not a contractual obligation, and it does not set a precedent for the next project.

Scope and pricing logic

Pricing follows scope of work, production complexity, post-production time and technical requirements. The agreed scope defines the number of deliverables, the editing level, and the formats and durations. Anything beyond or different from that — extra edits or versions, a changed visual direction, longer video, additional formats or exports, complex revisions — is additional work: quoted, approved, then executed.

Expanding a project is always welcome; it just has to be planned, because crew time and post-production capacity are booked in advance.

Booking, payment and areas served

Project work: 50% deposit at booking, 50% on delivery, billed with a full VAT invoice (LU36089387); PO numbers supported. Studio (Belair) or on-site — the same standard applies.
